Here was Startail Tumbler Productions’ entry (and my first project officially under this brand) that came 2nd place!

I’ve decided, I need to get more films made and I need to do it now. With my long term editing assistant and closest friend from years of University together – Jymmy Stardust/Kayla Howard – moving to Canada in October to pursue her love of production design (and getting the f*ck out of Brisbane), means of course, I need to one up her and make a decent film without leaving the country for exotic men and women.

Well, more to the point, I need to follow her lead and take real steps towards my creative career.

The other woman in my life that is to blame for my involvement in the filmmaking world is Andrea Schaul. Because she fails to have a personal website, Twitter or useful Facebook, I present you with this picture:

When I was a wannabe filmmaker teen, my motivation was to make horror/gore films that send the audience packing out of the cinema with the opening sequence. I still love horror but Startail Tumbler won’t be about short term, cheap thrills of making my audience hate me.

With Startail Tumbler, I aim to create films and other media that will give important issues in our communities a platform to hopefully educate and motivate a wider audience to be more involved in their community. The current project that is in its development stage will be Startail Tumbler’s first feature film. The aim of the film is to reduce the stigma around mental illness.

So to Kayla and Andrea, and the other creative types involved in my life at different points: There is no famous writer or director I look up to, it is all of you I love, admire and strive to be. Stay yourselves and keep creating!

Frills and Apples

Sewing is great. I suck at cooking. So don’t even ask me to try. Just ask me to sew pretty things. I do commission work (hopefully, I’ll get around to throwing some things up on my Etsy store in the next month) but mainly ladies clothing. I love lolita fashion but to purchase brand lolita clothing is wayyy out of my comfortable spending limits. So the bulk of what i sew for myself has some sort of lolita vibe to it at least. There’s actually a really epic lolita sewing community at LJ.

When I finally get around to doing a proper photoshoot for my creations,  I  may dump some piccies here…
